Lumley Insurance recognises that climate change is one of the biggest issues to face industries worldwide and we believe that it is important for companies to look at how they manage their impact on the environment.
As a part of Wesfarmers Insurance, we have been measuring, monitoring and reporting our carbon emissions for several years now. We are constantly working to minimise our impact on the environment, improve safety, manage our risks and to participate in the communities that we operate in.
Some of the areas we measure our carbon emissions include:
- Direct energy consumption (offices and base building electricity and natural gas)
- Work related travel by employees (e.g. flights, taxis, cars)
- Work related accommodation and meals
- Consumption of materials (e.g. paper, office supplies, computers, furniture and fit out items)
- Telecommunication (e.g. phones, internet)
- Advertisement materials (e.g. billboards, published media, radio/TV)
- Consultant / legal / recruitment services.
